Functionally, CueCam Mac is identical to CueCam for iOS except the following;

• No auto upload to Dropbox
• Tap Markers can additionally be fired by using the keys 1-4 while recording
• Keyboard shortcuts added for Start/Stop Recording (CMD-R) and Snapshot (S)
• Any Video/Audio input on your Mac can be used.
• NDI® and OMT Video Inputs can be used
• EOS Console Time Sync is not supported

The Settings View looks more like it belongs on an iPad than a Mac, but it's functional. We are working on a more Mac-friendly settings interface, but it's not available yet. The previous one from earlier alpha versions has been deprecated now as it didn't keep up with recent changes to the functionality of the app.

• Files are saved to ~/Documents/CueCam, you cannot change this path
• Some Camera and Audio inputs don't seem to record correctly, and there is no indication of this in the UI - always ensure you make a short test recording with your selected inputs and check it actually plays back!
• The UI is lifted from the iPad. The Settings View looks more like it belongs on an iPad than a Mac, but it's functional.
• RTSP /video endpoint does not work, the /status endpoint works as usual.
• Eos Discovery can be unreliable, especially if running ETCnomad on the same Mac.
• The MacOS app has not been extensively tested (hence the above caveats!)
• QLab integration is entirely untested

When using a directly connected camera the latency should be minimal, however when using a camera connected over a network, especially over WiFi, latency can be introduced. This will be apparent as the OSC messages (and therefore things like timecode, cue updates, and markers) arriving slightly *before* the event appears to take place on stage.

You can now adjust the delay within Recording Settings and calculate it automatically using Frame Sync Video Synchronisation

In most cases the latency is acceptable. A “worst case” experiment using a MacBook Pro and NDI HX Camera on iPhone connected via commodity WiFi with other traffic on it yielded a delay of around 4-5 frames or 1/6th of a second but keep this in mind if expecting precision with timecode.

There is absolutely no support for the Mac version of CueCam at this time. We strongly recommend using the iOS version
