Beta Licensing

The beta versions remain absolutely free with no restrictions on use!

My dislike of in-app purchases, and especially subscriptions, is pretty well known.

Originally I had intended to launch this as a simple paid app and also push a free 'trial version' into the store with limits. This is difficult and I've been recommended by many people to use in-app purchases to 'unlock' the full version.

CueCam is a SINGLE purchase, the only difference is the app will always be a free download with an “unlock” function rather than having two apps in the AppStore.

I personally don't like this, I'd rather have a 'demo' app but for various reasons I've been discouraged from this by people who know better and have been doing the Apple App Store dance for years.

Apple is really strict on this (so they get their 30% commission!) - I cannot offer any route to purchase other than via the App Store. However, I want to make the licensing as flexible as possible so that we can unlock it for educational establishments and specific events, and that has been implemented.

Ultimately, I'd like it to be free-to-use for education and I'm trying to work out how best to go about that.

When you first load it, you'll find you're in “Evaluation Mode”, simply 'buy' it in the app - open Settings, scroll down to “Purchase Upgrade to Full Version”, and select “Unlock Full Version”. You will not be charged (and the Apple interface should make that very clear)

You can go back to any previous build at any time in TestFlight. Simply open TestFlight on your phone, select CueCam and scroll down to “Previous Builds” you can select any of them.

1.21.1 (70) is the last build that is guaranteed to have no licensing-related code in it.
